Fine Lines And Wrinkles. Non Surgical Tips And Treatment.

Your eyes may be a window into your soul but neglecting the delicate skin surrounding them can cause an array of problems, including premature ageing.
Under eye skin is not only thinner in comparison to that of the rest of your face, but contains very few sebaceous glands. As a result, this particular area is prone to dryness and crows' feet (fine lines) due to constant facial expressions.

Although commonly associated with age and exposure to ultraviolet rays, fine lines surrounding the eye area can easily be aggravated by poor eyesight and, rough handling during the application and removal of cosmetics.

Today I take a look at the non surgical treatment process of this unwanted problem as well as sharing useful tips of how to prevent the occurrence of further lines and wrinkles.

Cream
Fine lines can be temporarily disguised by the application of a good quality eye cream.
These products are specifically designed with the delicate eye area in mind and work by plumping out the tissue, minimising the emphasis of prominent lines.

It is vital to ensure that only a small amount of cream is applied to prevent swelling and irritation and, that care is taken to reduce any unnecessary stretching of the skin. A great tip when applying eye products is to always use your ring finger in a gentle tapping movement. Should any sensitivity arise, a gel can be used to sooth and cool the eye area immediately.

With such an array of products specifically designed to target ageing, choosing the right cream for you can be an overwhelming process. If your aim is to reduce the appearance of fine lines it may be worth purchasing one of the many creams available containing alpha hydroxy acids (natural acids found in fruit, milk and sugar). Not only do these acids remove the dead layers of skin making wrinkles less prominent, they also increase the skins elasticity, erasing minor fine lines and wrinkles by plumping them out.
Like all eye creams, these products should be used sparingly and overuse should be avoided. A sun protection cream should also be applied after application to protect skin from harmful UV damage. The number one cause of premature ageing.

Cleansing
A non-oily specialized eye make-up remover combined with a small piece of damp cotton wool should be used during the cleansing process of eye cosmetics. This will not only protect delicate under eye skin but any excess traces of make-up can be gently removed onto the cotton wool instead of the skin.

Massage
When performing facial massage care should be taken to ensure that movements are of a gentle nature and always from the outer to inner corner of the eye. This will not only reduce overstretching, but minimise the risk of further lines and wrinkles caused by the unnecessary pulling and rough handling of skin.
