Contouring Cosmetics Tips

Contouring Tips
Who doesn't want killer cheekbones or to create the illusion of beautifully defined slimmer features?
Contouring cosmetics are the essential products required in any girls quest for perfection. Enhancing your bone structure in a natural yet defined way is the key to applying contouring techniques skillfully and, successfully.
Following my simple tips will ensure that you achieve a flawless, sculpted face worthy of any pro.

My top contouring tips are:

  • Opt for a very soft, round-ended brush when applying contour cosmetics. Square-ended brushes tend to leave a distinctive unsightly line which is difficult to blend in to the surrounding make-up
  • Use a rolling action of the fingers or a small sponge to apply liquid and cream blushers. This will ensure that the colour is not spread too far
  • Always tap excess powder blusher on to a clean tissue before applying to the face
  • Blend blusher along the cheekbones in an upward motion. This will prevent you from losing the desired effect and ensure that the product is not applied too far down the face
  • Avoid the application of blusher and highlighter over crepey, lined or excessively hairy skin. These particular products will only accentuate the problems
  • Ensure that you are achieving a balanced effect when applying contour cosmetics by checking regularly
  • Never apply blusher too near to the nose. Application over the cheekbones should always start level with the mid-point of the eye
  • Ensure that blusher and highlighter are kept away from the fine lines and wrinkles around the eye area. Pay particular attention to the corners of the eyes as the application of these products to this area will only make lines appear more prominent
