Healthy breakfast recipe: fresh berry granola

If you're struggling to create a fibre fuelled breakfast that packs a powerful nutritional punch, why not try this healthy homemade granola recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 2 heaped tbsp blueberries or blackberries
  • a small handful of strawberries or raspberries
  • 30g whole oats
  • 15g mixed nuts and seeds - think walnuts, cashews, almonds, sesame, sunflower pumpkin and linseeds
  • 3-4 tbsp natural yogurt - choose a low sugar variety such as Lancashire Farm.
What to do:
  • pop the berries and oats into a bowel - cover with natural yogurt
  • mix well before sprinkling with nuts, seeds and additional berries - if desired
  • serve and enjoy!
Top tip: prevent your mid morning munchies resembling an abundance of addictive added sugar by swapping refined food sources such as sugar fuelled cereal and white bread, for healthier alternatives such as eggs (non fried!), porridge, wholemeal bread and fresh fruit.
