High in pigment, blusher has the greatest, most drastic contouring effect allowing it to achieve definition without the need of shader or highlighter, but how much do you really know about the application of this feature enhancing product?
A simple, foolproof way of ensuring you create your desired effect is to remember the following rule:
To create the illusion of extra length or visibly reduce width, always keep blusher to the sides of the face, blending in an upward motion from underneath the cheekbones towards the temples.
If however, your aim is to create the effect of extra width or add fullness to the face, focus your blush application on the cheeks themselves. Alternatively, the same effect can also be achieved by blending from the angle of the cheekbones towards the ears. Simple!
