Sugar: why nutritional labels should display sugar in teaspoons

If food and drink manufacturers were forced to display the sugar content of their product in teaspoons as opposed to grams, maybe our nation wouldn't be facing a sugar fuelled obesity/health epidemic that stems from the average UK adult consuming a staggering 40 grams of sugar per day - 33 more than their recommended intake.

Would you think twice about consuming a product if its nutritional label stated its sugar content in teaspoons instead of grams?
