Beauty Tip: Nails

From tweezers to brushes, we're all guilty of failing to take adequate care of our make-up tools, but did you know that its not just our cosmetic accessories that require regular cleaning?
Although nail enamel may appear to be visibly protected, these bottled products are surprisingly susceptible to an array of unwanted problems. Confused? Don't be...

The evaporation of solvent is responsible for forcing enamel to thicken and dry on the nail plate. As the same process develops inside the bottle each time the top is removed or inadequately replaced, simply failing to ensure that any excess trace of varnish is thoroughly removed from the neck of the bottle after use will create an unnecessary build up of product. As a result, the excess enamel prevents a secure seal, forcing solvent to evaporate and develop a thickening effect. Its that simple!

A great tip to avoid unwanted enamel thickening is to treat your nail enamel as a make-up tool. Not only should you ensure that the neck of the bottle is thoroughly cleaned and free from product after use, but a secure seal should be created upon replacing the top.
