Beauty tip: Nails

Although nail enamel removers contain a dissolving solvent, they should never be used as an alternative to thin down nail enamel which has thickened. Why? Simple...

As these particular formulas contain oil to minimize the drying effect induced by acetone, they will only force enamel to separate and discolour, making them highly unsuitable thinning agents.
A great tip to ensure that enamel is thinned effectively is to simply opt for a nail enamel thinner. These products are specifically designed to include thinning solvents such as ethyl acetate and should be added to enamel at least twenty minutes before treatment to ensure that the formulation dissolves evenly prior to application.

Always remember to avoid a shaking motion upon adding thinner to enamel. As the cap will fill with product, the risk of 'flooding' the nail plate will increase dramatically. Instead, ensure that the thinner is dispersed evenly by briskly rolling the bottle backwards and forwards in the palm of your hands.
