Food for thought: frozen not fresh

Food for thought...

If your healthier habits are hindered by the cost of fresh fruit, choosing frozen alternatives is not only a cheap and convenient way of increasing your intake of vital vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, but fantastic for ensuring that you eat a variety of fruits that have been preserved at their peak - frozen fruits are often chilled shortly after being collected as opposed to left for months before manufacturers and consumers can stock and store them (a common concern with fresh fruit).

Filling your freezer with a selection of frozen fruit sources will also allow you to pin point precise portion sizes without the worry of wasting fresh produce - a common culprit responsible for our failure to meet our recommended five a day!

If you're yet to be convinced, this bargain bag of blueberries cost me a mere £2 for 400g and is the perfect addition to an array of delicious desserts including a firm foodie favourite - homemade granola and natural yogurt!
