Workout in confidence: my guide to the best gym gear

Whether we're working out with weights, sweating it out on a stationary bike or tackling the tough terrain of an uphill hike, us girls still want to look (and feel!) good during a grueling gym session, but can fitness really be flattering and fashionable when we're working up a sweat? Here's my guide to the best gym gear for comfort, convenience and confidence...

Best for price and protection: pink and black streamlined sports bra by Asda.
If we want to tackle the treadmill without the worry of chinning our chest, this stylish sports bra not only provides superb support for bouncy breasts - it has enough padded protection to ensure that we execute even the most energetic of exercises with comfort and confidence - but screams style when teamed with a tighter top - it's razor back fit is flattering and flexible in all the right places.

Best for style: Nike pro engineered warped check capris.
Although fitness isn't all about making a fashion statement, wearing the wrong clothes can cripple our confidence at a time when we need it the most - that's why a pair of cute capris are a must for making a sweat free statement.
These bright bottoms by Nike are made from a dri-FIT fabric that is not only flattering, fitting and flexible, but guaranteed to give gym goers the freedom to move without the worry of a workout wedgey.

Best for feet: ladies leather summit walking shoes by Karrimor.
We're all susceptible to the bothersome blisters that stem from a tough training session, but tackling the terrain of an uphill hike can create the type of friction that leaves us fearing our next workout - unless we wear a pair of leather summit walking shoes that is!
Although these lightweight, leather look shoes may see some sacrificing their style, their breathable fabric not only leaves feet feeling fresh and friction free, but comfortably cushioned throughout the toughest of training sessions - their perfectly positioned padding and slip free grip are guaranteed to provide protection when we need it the most.

Top tip: we all worry about our 'wobbly bits' when we workout - particularly if we're prone to being psychologically preoccupied with our 'fuller' figure - but by opting for prints and panels (and the correct colouring!), we can all create an outfit that hides the 'hideous' bits that fuel our fear of being too 'fat' for fitness.
