Sniff yourself slim.

Before you consciously convince yourself that you 'can't' curb the cravings that lead to an overconsumption of chocolate fuelled calories, sniff the scent of vanilla.

Although this tactile tip may sound silly, scientific studies show that the sweet smell of vanilla not only controls our cravings for chocolate, but prevents us from turning to tasty treats - the tasty treats that tighten our trousers - by tricking our brain into thinking that we've satisfied our sweet tooth.

As a former 'big' girl who is still susceptible to succumbing to the sweet stuff, I can assure you that this particular aroma is one of the very few fragrances that will work wonders for your weight, willpower and waistline - particularly if you take a sniff of a bottle of vanilla (essence) which tends to work better than the 'miracle patches' that are often promoted online.

Top tip: this simple scent may tame the temptation to satisfy your sweet tooth, but it won't pin point the underlying psychological problem/s behind your bingeing behaviour.
By all means use it as a method of motivation to convince yourself that you can sustain the self control to make sensible choices, but don't expect it to eliminate the core culprit/s responsible for your actions - this will take time, honesty and hard work.
