Brighten up a boring breakfast with a strawberry smoothie bowl...

Ingredients - to serve one:

  • 90g frozen strawberries
  • 100ml skimmed milk
  • 3tbsp natural yogurt - I used Lancashire Farm fat free natural yogurt
  • 1/2tsp vanilla extract
  • a topping of your choice - I chose a handful of homemade granola, flaked almonds and blueberries.
Instructions:
  • Blast all of the ingredients (excluding the topping) in a blender until a smooth consistency is created - specks of strawberry should still be seen.
  • Serve in a small bowl before sprinkling with a tasty topping of your choice.
Top Tip: although a strawberry smoothie bowl may make a speedy and simple breakfast for those who struggle to stomach solid food sources, it can also be transformed into a tasty treat - think an innocent ice-cream/fruity frozen like yogurt - that won't tighten your trousers.
