Weight loss/nutrition:the benefits of going back to basics in the kitchen...

Top tip of the day...

Forget faffing with food - going back to basics by creating realistic recipes can benefit our body, brain and bank balance.

Although Instagram friendly food may be impressive, attempting to recreate such unrealistic recipes from scratch can not only sabotage weight loss success - the constant creation of complex cuisine leaves us struggling to sustain a lack lustre lifestyle of sums, scales and fancy food that fails to satisfy our senses - but investing in specialised ingredients that are pointless and pricey - we're talking wagyu beef, girolle mushrooms and so-called superfoods (etc!).

Instead of turning to the time consuming cuisine that leaves many failing to fight the flab, forget faffing with food and focus on going back to basics by making mainstream meals (think poached eggs on a bed of wholemeal bread and grilled bacon, chunky chicken stir-fries and a smoked salmon salad) that are simple, sustainable and satisfying - your body, brain and bank balance will all benefit from it!
