How to: free your mind from negativity
Instead of dedicating every ounce of energy to a diet that dictates what dishes and desserts you 'should' ditch, focus on freeing your mind from negativity by eliminating the following emotions...
1. Avoid anger.
An aggressive attitude will not only aggravate an already stressful situation, but fuel the frustration that drives you to self destruct.
Instead of battering your brain by becoming angered by your actions (or the attitude of others), dedicate your exaggerated energy to eliminating anything that hinders your happiness - including your erratic emotions.
2. Regret nothing.
It doesn't matter how many mistakes that you make, regret won't right your wrongs - learn your lesson, let go and never look back.
3. Release resentment.
The opinions of others may overwhelm you, but they will only poison your brain with pain if you fail to forgive, forget and move forward by becoming blinkered to the careless comments that cripple you.
4. Say goodbye to guilt.
Beating yourself up for having a 'bad' day won't erase your erratic emotions (or eliminate the excess energy that you have over consumed), but it will bombard your brain with the toxic thoughts of negativity that trigger a vicious cycle of crippled confidence and self criticism.
Instead of feeling guilty, feel grateful that you have another opportunity to overcome the obstacles that have previously overpowered you.
5. Banish blame.
Stop blaming your 'bigger' body and your 'failure' to feel fit and healthy on being too tired, too unfit and too tempted by tasty treats. We all have the capacity to change if we're willing to accept that our current actions are hindering our health and happiness, but few find the strength to acknowledge why they feel the need to create exaggerated excuses - don't be one of them.
6. Worrying is a waste of time.
Whether it's worrying about your 'wobbly bits' or stressing about your shape and size, life is too short to waste worrying about irrelevant imperfections. If you're not willing to change the things that cripple your confidence, learn to love yourself for who you are instead of hating yourself for what you're not willing to try and transform.
