Weight loss tip: you are never too 'fat' for fitness
Weight loss tip
If the thought of participating in physical activity in public triggers the temptation to skip a training session, remember that an effective exercise regime doesn't have to resemble the gruelling gym workouts that leave you worrying about your wobbly bits...
Although it's perfectly natural to become psychologically preoccupied with a negative perception of your physique when you're new to physical activity and/or fear that you're too 'fat' for fitness, there is no reason why you can't enjoy the health enhancing effects of exercise in comfort and confidence.
Instead of intensifying the insecurities that stem from sweating it out in a social spin class (or any form of fitness that fuels your fear of your 'fuller' figure!), don't be ashamed to tailor your training to suit your self esteem by opting for something small and simple such as a scenic stroll, countryside cycle or even an energetic dance DVD in your 'safe' surroundings until you gain the confidence to join a gym (or smash a sweaty session in a more public place!).
Although we're all susceptible to the workout worries that cripple our confidence - be it physical or psychological - none have to hinder the health and happiness that stem from fitness, if we're willing to find a way to overcome the obstacles that leave us overwhelmed and ready to give up on our goals.
Top tip: if you're worried about your wobbly bits when you workout, avoid wearing clingy clothes, if you struggle to sustain stamina when you tackle a tough training session, take things slow, and if you battle to catch your breath as you blast your 'bigger' body, don't be afraid to split your training into smaller, sustainable segments, because where there is a will to workout, there is always a way to workout - in comfort and in confidence.
