Weight loss: ditch dangerous diets & detoxes

Although our desperation to drop a dress size can trigger the temptation to turn to the diets and detoxes that claim to 'beat the Christmas bloat,' the reality of these worrying weight loss methods - the methods that are heavily marketed after our festive fuelled feasts have left us with a fuller figure - does not resemble a realistic approach to ousting an accumulation of additional weight - it resembles a dangerous 'diet' that's destined for disaster and discouragement.

Before resorting to a pill, product or plan that promises to prevent you from piling on the pounds with it's fat burning, fibre filling or craving curbing properties (to name but a very few exaggerated examples!), remember this...

The rapid results that stem from a speedy, short-term weight loss solution - particularly skipped meals and the severe restriction of specific food sources - do not lead to the long-term lifestyle change that creates a happy mind and a healthy body. They do, however, disrupt essential hormones and enzymes which makes it more difficult for the body to eliminate excess fat, and leave you susceptible to an abundance of unsightly side effects such as slowed metabolism, ill health, irritability, low blood sugar levels, excess skin, fatigue, physical and psychological stress and distress and dietary deficiencies - they also leave you prone to piling on the pounds the second that you return to real food, and a realistic lifestyle.

Summary: although dedicated dieters may dream of a speedy weight loss solution that works, the effective elimination of excess weight is not as easy as popping a pill or swapping solid food sources for shakes and supplements, if it was, everyone would be a healthy and happy weight, and the products' that provide nothing but fake promises wouldn't be religiously rammed down our throats by wannabe weight loss companies who con vulnerable clients into parting with their pennies in order to boost their own bank balance. Unless you want to dedicate a lifetime to dangerous diets that don't work, get wise about weight loss and accept that there is no quick fix to flaunting a figure that's free from excess flab.
