Weight loss tip: you're human, not a machine

Weight loss tip...

Tucking into the occasional tasty treat won't tighten your trousers - failing to relax the strategic rules and regimes that resemble religiously executing an extreme exercise and eating routine, will.

Although too many tasty treats and takeaways can leave you prone to piling on the pounds, branding these specific food sources as 'bad' can hinder your healthier habits by creating a negative psychological perception of processed pick me ups.

In fact, deliberately depriving yourself of delicious dishes and desserts will not only intensify your urge to overindulge in 'forbidden' food - you dedicate every ounce of energy to thinking about the taste and texture of the treat that you have consciously convinced yourself that you 'can't' have regardless of whether you want it or not - but fuel the feeling of failure when you finally succumb to the sweet and savoury food sources that you see as a sin - you psychologically blow things out of proportion to the point where a simple 'slip up' seems like the end of the world when all it really resembles is the reality of being human, and having a healthy, balanced diet.

Instead of expecting to execute an extreme exercise and eating regime on a regular basis, don't be afraid to acquire a more relaxed approach towards treats, takeaways and training by allowing yourself the freedom to enjoy life and a little of what you fancy. Possessing the physical and psychological strength to sustain a strict and specific routine may seemingly scream weight loss success, but it won't allow you to maintain motivation, or master the meaning of moderation as you become psychologically preoccupied on the all or nothing approach to weight loss, and feel like you're dedicating every day to a diet that's destined for disaster - your healthy habits resemble a chore as opposed to a laid back lifestyle change and leave you susceptible to the bothersome binges that stem from self loathing and struggling to sustain self control.

Top tip: you're a human that's prone to physical and psychological exhaustion, not a machine that's programmed to move more and eat less (crap) day in, day out. By all means maintain healthy habits, but remember that taking time to rest (from exercise) and relax (your eating habits) is an essential part of an effective, but realistic weight loss regime.
