Top tip:make the most of the free fruit for kids scheme...
Nippers Nutrition's top tip of the day...
Take advantage of the free fruit for kids scheme when shopping at participating supermarkets.
Aside from increasing our offsprings' intake of mandatory micronutrients, taking advantage of the free fruit for kids scheme is not only an effective way to encourage tots to try new tastes and textures - children who are given the freedom to choose their favoured form of fruit (or food!) are much more likely to try troublesome tastes and textures without a tantrum - but it also provides parents with the perfect opportunity to learn more about their little'uns likes and dislikes, prior to using their tot's personal preferences to promote healthier eating habits - a child who chooses the crunchy texture of an apple can be introduced to similar sources such as celery sticks, where as a child who chooses the tame texture of a bright banana can be introduced to the same soft consistency that stems from colourful strawberries.
