Beauty Tip: Nails and Illness


Did you know that just like our skin and hair, our nails are as equally susceptible to suffering during times of ill health?

Although this is simply due to our blood supply focusing on restoring the weaker areas of the body which need it the most, a great tip is to combine a little extra TLC with an increase in protein and calcium throughout times of illness. 
As the formation of strong, healthy nails rely on an adequate supply of blood carrying the breakdown products of good nourishment to the matrix (the only 'living' part of the nail) increasing nutrients found in food sources such as meat, cheese, milk and eggs may prove to be particularly beneficial in ensuring that your nails remain as healthy as they possibly can. 

Remember that the unwanted suffering our talons experience as a result of ill health is only temporary. As the general state of your health improves, so will your nails.
