Sensible swap: Greek yogurt for natural yogurt

Sensible swap...

Swap: a 110g pot of Activia intensely creamy 3% fat Greek style yogurt - 14g sugar and 109kcal per 110g pot.

For: a 100g portion of Lancashire Farm fat-free natural yogurt - 4g sugar and 48kcal per 100g portion.

Why: this simple swap will not only slash your sugar consumption by a staggering 10g, but provide an unprocessed product that is free from added additives such as artificial flavours and colours (Lancashire Farm is created from pasteurized cow's milk and contains only innocent ingredients) and suitable for coeliac sufferers.

The best bit: unlike the abundance of added sugar and artificial additives that have been pumped into processed products such as Activia, Lancashire Farm's fat-free natural yogurt resembles a sensible food source that is not only bursting with beneficial nutrients such as calcium (a mandatory mineral for sustaining strong teeth and bones) and protein, but contains less than half of the calories found in a sugar fuelled pot of Activia - this makes it particularly suitable if we're struggling to control our overall calorie consumption and/or oust an accumulation of additional weight!

Top tip: although Lancashire Farm contains a slashed sugar content in comparison to the processed products that provide nothing but false promises and an abundance of added sugar, combining its creamy consistency with additional ingredients such as granola will instantly increase your intake of the sweet stuff -  always control the content by pin pointing precise portion sizes in order to prevent an overconsumption of one of the culprits that we need to cut (the free sugars found in unhealthier food sources!).
