Beauty Tip: Waxing
Home waxing treatments may be a convenient method of hair removal, but this quick DIY alternative to regular salon visits may not be as effective for one simple reason...wax overload!
Although it may be tempting to smear an excessively thick layer of warm wax over unwanted hair, opting for a thin layer will in fact prove to be more beneficial. Confused? Don't be.
As wax doesn't set on cooling, it merely provides a sticky coating. Therefore, the application of a thick layer will only create a barrier between hair and the removal strip, forcing the effectiveness of this particular treatment to decrease dramatically.
If fair hair is your primary problem, simply applying a light dusting of talc against the direction of hair growth will not only make them easier to see, but prevent any excess wax from sticking to your skin. As talc has a lifting effect, this is also a great way to ensure that hairs are adequately coated in wax in order to provide an effective and efficient removal process.
